How do I RSVP?
You can RSVP by mail or online. Our invitations will include an RSVP card and mailing address, plus an invitation code you can use to respond online. We’ll be mailing invitations in mid-March.
When is the RSVP deadline?
Please respond no later than April 11, 2026.
Can I bring a plus one?
Your invitation will specify whether we’ve included a ‘plus one’ for you. We’ve been mindful of our budget and aiming for a smaller wedding while making these arrangements, and we appreciate your understanding.
Will there be children at the wedding?
No, we have decided on an adult-only wedding to keep an intimate atmosphere. We hope that you will still be able to attend, and are sorry if this makes it difficult.
What should I wear?
We suggest cocktail attire (semiformal). For men, we’d suggest a nice pair of slacks, shoes, and a button down shirt (tie optional). For women, a cocktail dress, or a nice skirt and blouse, etc.
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
Both! Weather permitting, we will be having our ceremony in the museum’s “Formal Garden”, and dinner/dance reception in the Library/Tented Pavilion.
What time should I arrive?
Guests are welcome to arrive between 4:00pm - 4:30pm. Feel free to wander the grounds and visit the galleries. The museum is open to the public until 4:45pm. Our ceremony will begin at 4:30pm.
I am coming from out of state, where can I stay?
We have reserved a block of rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn (2.6 mi. away) for the night of the wedding and the night before. We’ll be including the reservation code in our invitations, and you can reach out to us if you would like it earlier. If you want to reserve a room in the block, you must do so before April 8. We will have more details on our travel page.
How do I get to and from the venue?
There is parking available on site, including limited handicap-permit parking. More details to come.
What if I have dietary restrictions?
Please note how we can accommodate you in your RSVP.
Do you have a registry?
We are not requesting any gifts. Instead, we’d love for you to consider donating to one of the following charities:
How did the two of you meet?
We met on Tinder in 2018, when we were both living in Maryland. Andrew’s profile mentioned that he liked museums, which caught Ellen’s eye. We went on to have many museum dates in the DC area. In 2021, Andrew bought his grandmother’s house on Long Island and relocated to New York. Ellen joined him soon after, with one stipulation: we needed to get a cat. About a year later, we adopted Jeff from Last Hope Animal Shelter. Last December, a few days after Christmas, Andrew asked Ellen to marry him, and here we are!
